We are committed to safety in all that we do. In June 2020, all Keen employees participated in Stand Up 4 Grain Safety Week to discuss safety awareness in the grain industry, leading by example to put safety first in each and every project.
At Keen, we always looks for opportunities to stay active and support a good cause, so we were thrilled to participate in the Market To Market Relay. Great job to all members of Team Keen—way to keep forging ahead!
As part of an outreach activity to give back to the community around the holidays, Keen Project Solutions chose to take on a “Canstruction” project for the Food Bank of Iowa. The team designed a grain storage facility (to scale), and the structure was built with 1,721 cans of food.
The canned food was purchased with donations from Keen employees and was later donated to the Food Bank of Iowa. Once the Canstruction project was over, the Food Bank of Iowa joined Keen for a Thanksgiving potluck to celebrate. We are grateful to all those who donated, worked hard, and made this project a success.
We are always excited to be a part of our community—especially when it comes to supporting the next generation. In November 2019, Keen enjoyed hosting a booth as part of the ABC of Iowa Craft Championships’ High School Challenges and Career Day. Over 70 students took part in our interactive welding booth, and we had a great time being involved in the future of our community.
We are always eager to volunteer our time and talents—especially when it comes to supporting initiatives that serve our local communities. In September 2019, members of Keen participated in the United Way of Central Iowa’s Day of Action. We assisted the Food Bank of Iowa in packaging 2,626 pounds of cereal into 101 boxes to be distributed amongst partner agencies across the state. We are grateful to have been part of these efforts!
Keen is always eager to be involved with efforts in our local communities and support however we can. In September 2019, Keen representatives participated in the ABC of Iowa’s Fall Golf Classic at the Legacy Golf Club in Norwalk. We were happy to sponsor hole #9 and participate in the event.
At Keen, we believe in doing our part to support our community however we can. So in August 2019, we were thrilled to host a blood drive with LifeServe Blood Center and encourage our community to give the gift of life.
Keen always looks for opportunities to stay active and support a good cause, so we were thrilled to participate in the Market To Market Relay. Team Keen—comprised of Keen employees, spouses, family, friends and customers—participated in the relay, which covers 75 miles over 18 stages on a varied and scenic course following the Raccoon River Valley Trail System. The eight-person team completed 75 miles and finished 7th out of 142 teams in 9:42:18, with an average pace of 7:36/mile! They also placed 27th out of 335 teams overall. We are proud of our participants and even more honored to have been part of this special event.
Each year, we strive to support our local community by participating in a build project with the Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity. In 2019, we helped restore the Birdland Area in Des Moines. As always, we had a wonderful time and look forward to supporting this wonderful organization in the future.
