Internships
An internship at Keen is more than just a summer job. It’s an opportunity to gain hands-on experience, contribute to meaningful projects, and learn alongside industry professionals who are invested in your growth. For recent graduates, we also offer entry-level opportunities designed to help launch a successful and rewarding career.
Every Voice Counts
Our culture is special, and that’s something you can feel from your first day on the job. People at Keen make a point to welcome new coworkers and get to know the person behind the role. That same openness continues across offices and job sites, where team members share what they know and work through challenges together. Employees at every level are encouraged to speak up, offer ideas and contribute to solutions. In addition, Keen’s leaders remain actively involved in protecting and sustaining that culture, including creating opportunities for employees to have fun outside their day-to-day work.
Keen Cares gives employees ways to give back to our communities and be there for one another. Volunteer projects rally us around shared causes, and social activities give coworkers time to connect. Wellness initiatives add some fun while encouraging employees to focus on their well-being. We also celebrate milestones such as new babies, apprentice graduations and other accomplishments, and we reach out with support when someone is facing illness, injury or loss.
Sharpen Your Skills
Growth at Keen starts with a conversation about where you want to go and what you need to learn along the way. Employees participate in 30-, 60- and 90-day check-ins, in addition to creating their own six-month development plan. Ongoing conversations with supervisors provide time to revisit goals, identify skills to develop and consider new areas of responsibility or interest.
Examples of career growth at Keen include:
- Taking on greater responsibility within engineering or the skilled trades based on technical expertise
- Moving from project engineer to assistant project manager and project manager
- Advancing from millwright into a field leadership role such as foreman
- Applying project and field experience in a design engineering role
- Moving from an internship into a full-time position
- Advancing within business operations roles such as accounting specialist to accountant
- Exploring another area of the company when an employee’s interests and strengths point in a different direction
MILLWRIGHT APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
For employees interested in building their millwright skills, Keen Project Solutions offers a four-year apprenticeship program that combines classroom instruction with hands-on field experience and mentorship from experienced team members.

Through Keen University, we provide education to help employees build the knowledge and skills they need in their roles and as their responsibilities grow. Development plans are designed to align with career tracks, with training focused on the industries Keen serves, specific engineering and construction disciplines, and leadership skills needed at different stages of a career.
Much of the content is developed and taught by Keen’s own experts, supplemented by outside courses, industry events and professional organizations. Each class has defined learning objectives, and participant feedback helps improve the training over time.
