DELIVERY MODELS

TWO MODELS. ONE PHILOSOPHY.

Every project has different needs, and no single delivery model fits them all. We offer two integrated approaches: design-build and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), giving us the flexibility to engage in the way that best serves your project. No matter which model we use, our commitment to transparency, collaboration and bringing the right expertise together remains consistent throughout.

Design-Build

Design-build brings planning, design and construction together under one point of contact. Rather than hiring separate firms for design and construction and managing the handoffs between them, clients work with one team that is accountable from early concept through project completion.

Benefits Beyond Convenience

When the people designing a project are connected to the people building it, decisions are made with a fuller understanding of cost, constructability and schedule impact. At Keen Project Solutions, we begin by listening to our clients to understand what they want to achieve and how their long-term goals should shape the project.

Shared Decision-Making

We bring clients to the table at key decision points to evaluate nice-to-haves versus have-to-haves together. This allows the scope to be adjusted as priorities evolve, and budgets can be managed against real-time cost information. Owners, their operations and engineering teams and other stakeholders have full visibility into how the design is developing and are actively involved in refining it.

What Clients Gain:

  • Single point of contact
  • Streamlined process
  • Continuous cost visibility throughout design
  • Collaborative decision-making at every stage
  • Flexibility to adjust scope as the project evolves

The design-build model works across both commercial and industrial environments and is particularly effective when a client values a collaborative partner over a traditional contractor relationship.

Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC)

EPC consolidates engineering, procurement and construction under one responsible party. Where design-build typically focuses on design and construction, EPC extends that scope to include the sourcing, evaluation and acquisition of equipment and materials for true turnkey delivery.

Progressive Approach

Our approach to EPC is more progressive than the traditional lump-sum structure. We engage early in the discovery and pre-construction phase, developing scope, cost and schedule before major commitments are made. That ongoing visibility is what makes our EPC model different. Owners aren’t handed a fixed solution at a fixed price; they’re brought into the process as informed decision-makers who understand the trade-offs and have had the opportunity to weigh in along the way.

A Faster Path Forward

That transparency also helps create efficiencies. Because we’re developing scope and cost simultaneously rather than sequentially, projects can move faster. Owners get to the go/no-go decision points sooner and with greater accuracy. And once the project starts, the pre-construction work we’ve already done means fewer unknowns to resolve in the field.

What Clients Gain:

  • Single responsible team for engineering, procurement and construction
  • Early involvement that reduces risk before commitments are made
  • Cost and schedule transparency in every phase
  • Accelerated project delivery through parallel design and cost development
  • Greater confidence in performance outcomes

The EPC model is effective for larger, more complex projects where the scope is substantial enough to warrant the rigor of this model. It’s often well suited to industrial projects, but the same principles apply wherever a client is looking for a partner to manage the full project life cycle.

What Both Models Share

Whether the delivery model is design-build or EPC, clients can expect the same things from our team: early engagement, open communication, continuous cost awareness and a collaborative process that keeps owners informed and involved. We build solutions together with our clients, presenting options and evaluating alternatives so they can make decisions they feel genuinely bought into. That’s what sets the way we work apart from how these models are often practiced elsewhere.
