Car Wash

Keen has been the general contractor on two Shine Shop car washes and is currently working as the GC on two more in Grimes and Johnston. Keen is selfperforming the installation of all the structural steel, as well as the installation of the owner-supplied car wash equipment. Equipment includes the conveyor, wash equipment, and vacuum system. Due to the wet environment, extra precautions have to be taken when constructing the building. The tunnel requires additional waterproofing as well as a system that can handle large volumes of water.

All subcontractors are required to prequalify to be considered for the project. Prequalification’s include project history/experience, EMR of below 1 and COI for the specific project.

Keen utilizes Sage 300 and Procore for cost management. Status reports are given to the ownership group at minimum on a monthly basis. A copy of all ULW’s are required by the lender for this specific project in order to endorse the pay applications.

Keen directs traffic via closing certain entrances. Branding is also displayed alerting the public to who the GC is for the project. Safety entrance signage is displayed notifying all parties of the requirements if they are to be onsite. This includes PPE requirements by Keen and OSHA.
